Superintendent's Message: Schools, community need each other to succeed - 10/3/14

Education matters! It is always the right time to learn. Now more than ever before, we need our community to strengthen our schools and our schools to strengthen our community. Community and schools, we need each other!

During the 15 months that I have been living and serving in Marion, I have been so thankful for our community's support for education.

As a result of increased community and family engagement, Marion Community Schools is producing GIANT results, including Indiana Department of Education "A"-rated schools and Marion High School being named a U.S. News and World Report Bronze Medal High School — which puts MHS in the top 25 percent of our nation's high schools in college readiness. Our Class of 2014 earned more than $5 million in scholarships, and 71 percent of our 2014 graduates earned three or more hours of college credit while still in high school.
