Kindness Kids brighten the day for local residents

News Blog Category - News Kendall Elementary's Kindness Kids Club made Wednesday a brighter day for some local residents.

They first stopped at The Salvation Army, where they helped pack "Sunshine Bags". They then made their way to Miller's Merry Manor, a local nursing home, to deliver the gift bags and visit with residents.

The project was perfect for the club, which aims to spread love, care, kindness, and hope to our school, our community, and beyond. The club was founded on one of our student's desire to help others, and it has grown from there!

The Salvation Army / Miller's Merry Manor project this week was funded by a grant that our Kindness Kids Club founding member, Grace Chandler, applied for and won. The All-Star Grant program, a partnership of the Indianapolis Colts and Grange Insurance, provides Indiana students 13 and younger the opportunity to apply for funds to support a service project to strengthen their community. We are proud to be one of six recipients of this grant in the 2015 cycle!

Club members who participated in the project Wednesday are:
  • Daytona Griffith
  • Ravleen Rai
  • Ava Adams
  • Grace Chandler
  • Mary Hamilton
  • Sesilia Guy
  • Sydney Slaton
  • Da'Yonna Fouce
We're so proud of these students, and of the club sponsors, too. Thank you, Mrs. Kleman and Mrs. Chandler!
